Well I tore my old short run down. Made it 6ft tall on 3 of the 4 sides and the back side is 8ft tall. Door is more then large enough to get my snow blower through in the winter to clear out a large space for them if they need it.

Plus, while I was doing some work found the 4 cochin's that are in the coop. They are really cute. Never saw them before until I picked them up. Feathers on the feet and the little brown/black one is sure skitish. Goes crazy when you come near trying to fly or run right through the fence.

I like the saw-horsish looking perch out there...that's a good idea. BTW...what breed is the gray hen? I love that coloring...a "blue something or other" I'm assuming???

I checked out your gallery. That is really nice...

I like your chicken ladder. My run is covered so I built this ladder in their run. It lifts up when I move the coop and run. The only reason there is grass in there is because I had just moved the coop to a shady area for the summer and the birds hadn't had a chance to dig it up yet. I want to steal your idea of your ladder. I love it.

I have these Roost bars but I like your idea much better. They do use the bars but not so much in the day as they are in the sun and they go for the shade in the hot part of the day. Yours look like it can be moved easily.

Thanks. to create I basically did the following:

I have left over rails from building my deck. 1 x 1's. I cut 45's at each end and then put the bottom one 6 inches off the ground and the second one is spaced 18 inches from the bottom. Then attached a 2 x 4 to join them together.

Thanks and I like you ladder you have. My birds would be up there in a instant when they come to the run after ranging most of the day.
