In the middle of building my extended run for my 4 Rhode Island Reds and I was thinking of building a wall down the middle so I could rotate the side that they are on to let it heal after they scratch it all up. Is this worth the time? Or would I be better off just giving them all the space all the time.

If you have the room for it, go for it. I personally love a split run as it's useful for everything from keeping the birds out of the way while you're working in the run, to isolating birds if needed for one reason or another.

It's hard to see but I have my run split with the coop in one side and garden beds in the other. While cleaning the coop I lock the chickens in the garden side, while gardening I keep them on the coop side. Currently letting the grass recover on the garden side so they've been locked out of there a number of weeks now.
