New Silkie - toes turned in. Fixing Minion's feet

Sorry been gone all day again I agree I use nipple for water every peep or the silkies that where older I put the beak up to the nipple using my finger to push the button putting the beak to the water tiny peeps learn really fast also... darn good thing you found that hair

So... my Barred rock chick has something weird wrong with her. Since I don't know if its wry neck or an illness, I have a vet appointment in the morning. I will bring Minion also. I am having issues at the stable about not sure if the other person in charge of feeding horses will be there or not, so that may mess up the vet appointment...

I made another thread... I am just drained right now. I have been fighting trying to help this barred rock, driving all over for this and that to try and help it. The ONLY avian vet that will look at it was booked solid today... here is what has happened so far. (I SWEAR I am trying to do things by the book but I keep getting the book thrown at me... :( ) https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...eisty-last-night.1217874/page-5#post-19459161

So.... my oh-so-hyper Barred Rock chick "June Bug" woke up yesterday with wry neck. I went into total freakout panic mode. TOTAL... The avian vet in Pooler was booked until this morning so I made a 9am appointment. Looks like she MAY have flown and hit her head or neck to cause the wry neck. They put her on meds. and bird baby food since I have to hand feed her for god knows how long (last wry neck I had, I had to feed and water from Spring to late Fall. I also brought my Silkie biddy "Minion" with me who has the club foot/spraddle leg. No longer spraddled but the food was still held clutched. She said Minion had a slipped tendon and my heart fell... I thought it was surgery only but she showed me how to tape it and how to slip the tendon back into place. Minion is now walking on her funky leg. Not completely normally but not hopping on one leg anymore. June Bug is right now ...well she just was OK, she just now walked backwards and flipped over, but for awhile she had her head up. I have to do physical therapy daily all day with her. Cost $180 bucks to help 2 tiny chicks... Totally worth it.

Oh good grief I am so happy you took both the slipped tendon would not have shown in the views we had I am so thrilled you took both

Once she showed me how to slip it back and how it felt when it slipped back, it was obvious. I knew it looked weird but I was not sure why the hock looked big. I do think I can do the wrap myself if it comes off. The barred rock, Junebug, is doing better. If I hold her head in the correct position for a long time, like while watching the news, i can put her back and she is totally normal for about 30 minutes or more. I decided to make a neck collar out of vet wrap and do a burrito wrap so she can't fight and she passed out asleep (as long as I am holding her too) That way I can keep her neck in correct position for much longer. I put her back in her new spot (with Minion) and she starts flying and jumping and acting like her normal obnoxious self. I gave her broccoli to calm her down.
