Hi everyone :)

I copy/pasted the sample questionnaire here.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
-Kind of? My dad had chickens when I was a kid, I was around them summers til I was 8. Moved in with current boyfriend last year, he’s had chickens for years. Last bunch got old and stopped producing, so into the soup they went. Just got new chicks (and some ducklings) a couple weeks ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
-15 chicks, 2 weeks old. 3 ducklings, 2 weeks old.

(3) What breeds do you have?
- 3 of each: Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, Gold Lace Wyandottes, Leghorns. Ducks: 1 Buff Orpington and 2 Chocolate Runners.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
-Through a friend on Facebook

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
-Animal welfare in general. Making the chicken/duck run interesting for them. Gardening (vegetable mostly, with some interest in flowers for the bees.) Hunting (big game).

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

-I live with my boyfriend who has partial custody of his 8 year old little girl. I have an old black dog named Delilah, 2 Maine coons named Tom and Lou, and the occasional random foster animal. I’ve been a veterinary nurse (small animal) for 17 years.

G'Day from down under Emily.. :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom of the page which are duck specific.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Being a vet nurse may come in very handy for the occasional injury or illness that can come along with having animals. Your experience could well be helpful to others here on BYC too.

Thanks for joining us!
