I've been successful getting ordinance changes in my city as well as several others. If you want to pick my brain, you can send me a private message and I'll give you my phone number because I don't feel up to writing a book here.

Hello. My name is Stephanie. My husband Scott and I are empty nesters now. We live in a little town called Hooper, NE. We live right in the edge of town in a small cul de sac, right next to the current major. I have always wanted to have chickens but our city doesn’t allow them. I’m wondering if there is anyone who lives in Hooper who is already trying to change the law or if there is anyone who lives in NE who has actually changed the law in their own community. I read a great article on this site that has given me pointers on how to go about trying to make a change so I’m ready to do more than just keep suggesting to the neighbor how great it would be to have chickens. Nice man but it hasn’t worked. Anyway excited to be a part of this group.
We also live in Hooper and would love to have chickens. Let me know if you are ever needing someone to sign a petition or anything, as we'll gladly jump on board with that. My guess is we'd have to petition the city council. Roxanne at the city office would probably know more about what would need to be done to change things.

Sadly, the OP has never been back on this site since making their first post. Perhaps you could start the petition?
