I wanna say thanks for letting my join. I have recently started my own hobby farm this past year. I have 34 hens and 2 roosters. Was wondering if people have a common issue with eggs production dropping right off. 3 weeks ago I was getting 30 a day and now lucky to get 6. Already added a light to wake them up at 3. Any other suggestions?

Shorter days have almost dropped my eggs to nothing with 54 hens in one house alone...

Hi and welcome to BYC:frow We're so happy you've decided to join us:ya Once they've been triggered to stop laying for the winter you have to simulate the days getting longer to get them started again. I don't remember the formula (I don't use light), but its out here somewhere.:idunno
