I took these with my phone so it's hard to get a good picture. This little girl is Clara. She is 9 months old and has had this swollen eye for about four months. I took her to a vet, no advice there. It is starting to hold her mouth open which makes it hard for her to eat and drink. My question is, do I need to lance it and drain it? If so how do I do that? If it isn't going to go away, please tell me so I can make a decision from there. Some of the flock had a respiratory issue here and there throughout the winter. None of them died or had the swollen eye problem. I just don't like seeing an animal suffer.

If she has had this for 4 months, then there may be pus around her eye that has solidified, and her eye could be gone. Did you ever treat with antibiotics? Did your vet say that it may be MG or coryza? Was there a bad smell around her face at any time? You should keep a closed flock--no new birds in, and none out, including hatching eggs. I think that I would put her down, and have a necropsy performed by the state vet to see what you have in the flock. Some states will perform the euthaniztion. Here is some info about that:
