Hello! I just joined byc. Found it via Google search on goat topics. I have a horse, 3 cats, a dog, and now 4 goats (one kidded the second day we had her)- all are rescues. There will most likely be chickens in the future. Bought a small farm back in September that needs a bit of work before getting any animals and bringing my horse home. However we did some emergency fencing to make a secure area for the goats as we took them in without planning on getting goats for a while. They were in pretty bad shape, hadn't been fed any quality feed for at least 3 months, living in my neighbours picked over pasture. When I saw how bad they were I asked to have them. (Or I'd have called the spca if they said no) so anyways, I'll be seen in and around the goat threads for now! Happy to see there are some goat enthusiasts here. :) here's hoping my new friends make a successful recovery! Thanks for having me here! Liz

Hello!
400

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC. :frow

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! That's so nice of you to take those poor goats in and give them a good home. It sure sounds like they need that. I'm hoping to get gets in the future but not untill we have more room to house and keep them. You might also like to drop by our sister site "Backyard herds" here is the link ~ http://www.backyardherds.com/ I'm sure there will be lots of goat keepers there to help you.
Wishing you the very best of luck with them and with getting some chickens in the future.

Enjoy BYC :frow

Thank you for providing a good home for the goats, I'm sure they'll do better under your care. We have a few goats too and they are entertaining!

It's nice to have you here!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Lots of chicken folks have goats as well - they sure are a lot of fun to watch. Some post videos of their antics. On one of the chicken threads someone recently posted photos of her "playground for goats," with many things for them to climb and jump on and off. If my mind ever worked I could tell you where to find it.

Hi and welcome. I'm sure the goats are happy chappies in their new home - well done you! Good luck with planning the rest of your farm.

All the best
