Yes, I have 2 chickens and just got a rooster a few days ago so I'm still working things out. Although I've been told that I need more than 2 hens with a rooster as it's too hard on them so I'm pestering my other half to extend my chicken coop so I can get some more

Kiki is right a rooster can handle 10 hens, any less and they tend to get damaged from over breeding.
