Hello! I've been raising chickens for about 7-8 years and have amassed about 90 hens and 5 roosters. My chickens are raised purely for eggs and will live out their lives on the farm (that includes the roos). I joined BYC because I'm always trying to learn new-to-me things, whether they are new or old ideas. You can never know too much when it comes to your animals.

Welcome to Backyardchickens.com aka BYC! :frow

Greetings and welcome to BYC Meg! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. (I know... I know, I see the "MT" in your name...) It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old sometimes look right "past" the name to the profile... To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
