New to byc!

Hey all! I often find myself coming here for poultry advice so I figured it was time i made an account. I have a small flock of 8 chickens and 2 Pekin ducks. And a corgi who constantly tries herding the animals around but almost always fails

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

We have two herding dogs, a Corgi and a Border Collie and neither will herd a thing, not even if we try to get them to. At least they protect the chickens though. The Corgi can see a hawk before anyone can and look up at it and bark until it leaves.

We have a Border Collie and I call him my "reverse herder" (he keeps the chickens off the porch.) And our "mini Border Collie" (Rat Terrier Chihuahua thing) thinks she's a herding dog, lol. She actually moves sheep pretty good and herds our cats all the time.

I love watching herding dogs work, though. The ones that herd ducks are especially fun to see.

Welcome! This is a great site! I always had between 8 and 12 chickens and definitely a corgi! I currently have no chickens (due to back problems) but love reading about them and helping if I can!
Post pics of your chickens and corgi if you can! Here are some pics of my current corgi, Sammy and of my past corgi, Beanie. The rooster is Roo and the chick is "Salt."

Beautiful Corgis! We had a pet stray Corgi when I was a kid, such a great little dog. Roo is very handsome!
