Hello everyone! I am new here to the site and brand new to raising chickens. We just got our first batch of 6 on Friday from our local Feed and Seed store. 5 Rhode Island Reds and one black Wyandotte (don't tell but she's my favorite). They were almost two weeks old and are already growing in feathers. I have to say I was not on board with getting chickens but now I am hooked. These girls are very entertaining and I have taken over the role of being the caregiver for them. Over the weekend coming up we will work on the coop for them to move into later but right now they are enjoying the new home along with a warm heat lamp. So needless to say I have been busy learning how to care for my little chicks and I am looking forward to having them lay some eggs soon. Main goal is to keep the friendly as well since I love animals I want to be able to interact with them as well. My son has taken a liking to them as well. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone.
