How long do you leave them in the incubator for? I’ve been letting them fluff up and then moving them is this right ? I see conflicting infoHow's it going over there?

You can leave them hatched in the incubator for 2 to 3 days. ( I haven't needed to wait that long) But the internet says they can live on their absorbed yolk for 2 to 3 days. That is how hatcheries are able to ship chicks in the mail. The more you open and close the incubator the more you mess up the other eggs because of humidity loss. Or at least that is what I hear. I also see other people who are always opening and closing and taking chicks out. So, I guess maybe it is a gamble. How long do you leave them in the incubator for? I didn't read the whole thread but there are alot of factors that figure into hatch rates. Shipped eggs usually have a lower success rate, older eggs, fertility of the birds, time of year, brand or type of incubator, and many others so don't beat yourself up about it.Well guys from 36 eggs on day 23 I have 7 chicks and two who were DOA so far.. can’t help but be disappointed. I didn’t candle so how many on average do you have make it to lock down? Help me feel better ☹![]()
So where's chickenshht from? Lol!
Everyone has some bad luck on occasion. A local breeder had a dozen French black & blue copper marans in her incubator for me. only 3 hatched. So I have those in the brooder and a mixed bakers dozen in the other brooder. Ameraucanas, bcm, EE, ayam cemani. About to put 20 EE in lockdown.
Same here ag day 21 one was born, wait 3 days i dint hear nothing sis a water float but no movement dont know what to so i also did the candelingHi there we’re at the end of day 20 here (I set them early afternoon I’m new). I don’t see any pips or movement (except one egg has moved) is this normal? I didn’t candle the eggs because I didn’t know. Temp has been consistent and humidity since day 18 lockdown has been 65-70 no less.. anyone had a silent hatch? I’m nervous
9 mixed that hatched last night.Yeah first hatch of course though right? Chickenshht.. I don't know it made me laugh when I was creating a username on the page! I built a nice big brooder expecting 20 chicks at least.. lol now I have a massive brooder and 7 chicks LOL. The chicks that we have are healthy and doing well so for that I am thankful.. now I'm praying they aren't cockerels.. these are from an Ameracauna Rooster and a Black Australorp Roo, the hens are Hy Lines, Ameracaunas and Black sexlinks.. cute little buggers so far.. we're hitting day 24 this afternoon, I'll let them go to tomorrow and float test them.. then let them go. I contacted someone locally with the same hatch date for some chicks to add to the flock..
