Hello! My name is Kristina and I am completely new to chickens. I have wanted to get a backyard flock for three years now and decided that this was the year to make it happen!

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am completely new to chickens. My chicks are on order and will be arriving in late June. I am very impatient, but late June- early August was the only completely free stretch of time I could dedicate to raising baby chicks.

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?

    (3) What breeds do you have?

I have ordered a speckled Sussex, gold laced Wyandotte, Easter egger, olive egger, black copper maran, and a salmon faverolles.

    (4) How did you find out about

I found this site several years ago when I started exploring coop building and design. This site came up and had so many great examples.

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to cook, read, and explore the outdoors.

Wow, that is a VERY long time to wait!! I don't think I could neither wait that long, OR get any sleep till then!!! [IMG]

You might want to spend your time doing some reading in our learning center here on BYC. LOTS of good reads on all the aspects of keeping poultry....

Great to have you aboard and enjoy your new flock!!
