New to Chickens ...... and I have 24 !!

Everyone thought I was crazy ........ but I am LOVING my new hobby! My husband can't believe I have abandoned my quilt room for chickens! LOL Started with 14 ....... then got 10 more 3 weeks later. They are all doing great and healthy. A few with runny stools but they are all vibrant and thriving. Just realizing yesterday that one of my Americana's/Aracana's is a Rooster! Yikes!! That is actually one reason why I got so many ...... I assumed I would get a few ...... but I'm so attached to them all ...... I can't stand the thought of giving any away!! We will just see how it goes ........

Anyway ....... excited to be here and learn a ton!! Cheers! gina
 
Wow 24! Welcome I'm also new to chickens and have seven, but will be rehoming my beautiful blue Easter egger tomorrow because she is a he. I hope to bring home a replacement. Have fun

I'm glad you've been enjoying your chickens so far, and I hope you have many more rewarding experiences raising them. Runny stools are pretty normal as long as the chicks seem healthy, they are to clean everything out inside from time to time, I suppose. :p

LOL..... we are new aS WELL.... WE HAD BEEN TOLD YOU WILL LOSE A LOT before they get feathered we ordred 42, 40 came in, lost one in transporting from brooder to run,( she got crushed).... so brand new to this hobby with 39, i ordered 7 roos..... we shall see how it goes....good luck with your hobby
