New to chickens and to BYC

Hello everyone, i just got these two chickens and not sure what breed. Can somebody help identify and approx whate age?

I'm sorry no one has helped you yet. I would say the first one could be a Black Australorp pullet and the second one looks like a Barred Rock cockerel. I'm terrible at guessing ages so I won't and save myself from embarrassment

Oh no you rhink its a cockerel? Not good. I was told the black one is a black sex link hen? And the other is a barred hen...i noticed sometimes they would try to fight, would that confirm your guess that its a cockerel?

Could you get a better (full body) picture of the Barred Rock? Oh and with out netting in between. The red hen in the picture looks like a New Hampshire red or Red sex link, the one with only it's body showing is a red sex link and I'll need a better picture of the one in the far back to be sure on the breed. You black one looks like Black Australorp not a Black sex link.

Do hens/pullets fight like that in the picture above?

Yes sometimes they do, but sometimes a hen and rooster will do it so it isn't something you can use to sex a chicken.
