:welcome Welcome, it's so nice to meet you! I'm from NC myself and this year started raising chickens and well...:jumpy chicken math took over and the addiction began! :lau I hope you enjoy it as much as I do here...I have met many wonderful friends and learned SOOOO much from many of the pros. Jump right on in, you will feel right at home in no time! :caf

from California! Sounds like you got some good advise :)

so thought I would give an update-my younger Barred rocks are still hanging in the coop during the day but are now sitting at the coop door-occasionally the braver one will enter the run and run around it a couple of time and retreat to the coop. The older girls are pecking as much but the younger ones are just timid around them-all end up on the roost together at night although at opposite ends. Am hoping they can work it out-Lynn

So last update-my flock has now become totally integrated-young and old....no one is squabbling except at roost time but even that is NBD.....just took time and also I suspect the younger BRs not that they are bigger are less likely to be picked on-so all is well!

Sounds like they're working things out. It's something that will happen often throughout the course of time. But the do tend to work things out after a while. It's good that the younger hens are more comfortable mingling amongst their elders. :)
