Hello! I'm excited to join this community!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I don't have chickens yet! I'm working on my research to start a flock in early 2018.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? - 0 but hoping for a small starter flock of 6.

(3) What breeds do you have? - None yet! I need to learn about the different ones to decide.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? - A friend of Facebook suggested it!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? - All sorts of animals! I love dog training and really look forward to putting that knowledge to good use with chickens. I also have a beehive, 4 different species of poison dart frogs. and an ant colony. I hike whenever I have a free moment. My professional job is in board game publishing so I spend all day, every day, with hobbies I love!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

The Learning Centre is a great resource. Personally, I have also found the Topic of the Week articles to be a good resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive or the coop build etc, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to the community my name is Belinda I'm from Wisconsin. Send me a message if you have any questions. I currently have a backyard flock of 6 hens and 2 roos. Trying to get rid of the roos. I have had chickens for 2 years now and love it.
