New to chickens

Hi all

I wanted to join to get answers on how to best set up a coup. I am new and still reading and learning. I hope to build a coup but not sure what kind and for how many feathery friends.

Hello, Craig, and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Well, you'll have to figure out how many birds you want of what size then build for more than that. Your climate will dictate the features of your coop.
I strongly recommend that you build your run completely predator proof so that the pop door from the coop to the run never has to be closed. Also avoid going with the minimum quoted size in the run of 10 sq ft per bird. Go as big as you reasonably can. The more space the birds have, the healthier and happier they'll be.
I am also a big advocate for a solid roof over the run to keep it dry.
