New to chickens

Welcome. I’m newish too. I don’t know much, but I do know not to believe the internet when they tell you how many chickens their coop will hold. We bought our first coop. It said it would work for six chickens. We call it the mini coop and use it if we need to isolate one of the girls. It will comfortably hold two. It could hold four in an emergency but they won’t be happy.
Happy learning:)

Good afternoon and welcome to the BYC flock!!! Just make sure it's exactly how you want it before you move your flock in. I have remodeled mine 3 times to make everyone happy, and like people suggested make it big! Best of luck.

So glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens :yesss:.

If you live in an area that often has inclement weather, to the point that chickens must be confined for days at a time.
Make your coop as large as possible. Crowded chickens are not happy and decide to start fighting or feather plucking each other.

:welcome

You're doing the right thing researching first and building your coop before you get the birds!

Here's a link to the Coop/Run articles, check through a lot of them! Be sure you know what works best for you and your climate, before you begin to build.
