All my chickens free range and they do fine, but it also depends on your location. Do you have a lot of predators by your house? is a good question to ask. There is a road in front of my house and my chickens know their boundaries, only lost one chicken to the road in 4 years.

We do have predators, we live in a pretty rural area of New Hampshire. I was thinking to have the girls out when we are home, and outside.
