Welcome to BYC, Heather! Sounds like you have a great setup going.

I will give one tip though: Chickens NEED 4 square feet in the coop and 10 square feet in their run. This is a MINIMUM. A lot of pre-fab coops will list that they can fit 3-6 hens, when in reality, 2 is a max.

Make sure to do coop research and predator proof it before any chickens move out. Pretty much any predator will love some chicken dinner. Other than that, I wish you the best of luck!

Oh don't worry my plan is to grow things out from Grandpa's coop but he was just so excited I didn't want to shut it down.
