Chickens are easier to feed than horses, just put a big feeder in the run and they will stop eating when they are full. They will always prefer their foraged food to dry pellets. Have fun!

Orps are a lovely breed btw.
 
Thank you everyone for the welcome! The coop is 4'x6' and is 8.5' high at the peak of the roof, has 4 nesting boxes and a roosting pole. The run is 5'x8'. I was hoping to get 3 more layers and in the future rotate about 2 fryers.
