Some time hens will stop laying in the winter time and recover in the spring time just all part of the life of a chicken

Glad you joined us! You got some good advice here already, all I can add is make sure they eat well (good quality layer feed) and give them time. It's possible that a combination of stress from the move and the shorter days are to blame, but I am a little concerned that the previous owner said they were not laying well for him either? They may be in their 2nd or 3rd year of laying then. It wouldn't hurt to do some precautionary pest control as well. Deworm them and dust them and the coop for mites/lice.

Ok the barred rock hens starting laying this week but now one of them keeps pecking at my rooster and taking feathers out. What doin do

Alright I got a question. My chickens I've noticed in the past week have been a lot more food than normal. Is there anything I can put in there to help fill them up or are they just that hungry?
