I also have 3 specks in the brooder, 17 eggs in the bator due next Friday, 12 chicks on order for Monday, and 24 eggs on order for the 25th.

He's got a great temperament to match too. I'm really hoping that his babies hatch. Only two of the 17 eggs in the bator are his, but I want at least one Foggy baby this go-round!

I don't have any idea why but i'm lately I've been REALY wanting some dominiques .

do you guys thing I should get some? my dad keeps going on about how he had them back when he was a kid. so I think it might make him happy. they seem like good layers and entirely wonderful chickens! (but what chicken isn't entirely wonderful?)

what are your experiences with dominiques? good or bad? any and all advise whould be great. you can still post pics of other chickens

If your in an urban setting you can get away with cheaper materials like chicken wire. If your out in the country, go heavy duty on everything with hardware cloth and what not. Double latches on your doors or single if your in the city.
