new to chicks and have LOTS of questions!!!

I have six Leghorn hennies and they are sweet. I was pretty disappointed when I got 6 of the same from the pullet barrel at our local farm supply store. However, they have warmed up to us quite well, and I hear they are pretty good layers ~250/year (if that's your thing). Otherwise, I have ready they can be scared {which like I said, mine have warmed up to me}, and they do spook a little but will come up to me when I have treats, listen when I talk to them - you know...all of the important chicken things.

I do have to admit -- in reference to my sadness over my 6 boring Leghorn purchase, I was too looking for a little difference in my crew - I got myself 2 little SLW girlies. They are cute, like the Doms - black and white.

apparently so...

what do you guys think about leghorns? they seem like a good breed.
what are you opinions on them?
I had leghorns last year. They were rescued from a large production place. Their nails were super long and their combs fell over their eyes. They had almost no feathers and looked terrible. It took them about a month and a half of free-ranging and tlc to start laying again. They feathered out and were always skittish, but they came running when I called them for treats. They were wonderful layers, nearly an egg each daily. I grew very fond of them.
They moved on this spring since we're branching out this year and wanted dual-purpose breeds. Right now my favorite breed is the speckled sussex and my favorite chicken is Foggy.

definatly getting at least one leghorn. they seem like an amzing breed! great egg layers!
