New to chicks

I appreciate the advice. I have been looking into homemade feeders and watering devices. I did not know that I could put a 5 gallon bucket on top. I will try it. I thought that I would not have too many problems in my yard because of my wall and dogs but as soon as finished and put my chicks in my dogs wanted in and some spirals’ tried to get in. My chicks did hold their own and pecked at my dogs through the fence. The dogs grew bored and now leave them alone. I am concerned about a flock of wild parrots (Red Face) that are in my area. They eat apples off my tree. So with your advice in mind I will keep the food inside and the water in and out.

Thanks

i love your coop!
its best to put the food inside to prevent rodents from coming in the ru, but if you have room then a waterer in the coop and in the run is best

Thanks

My daughter and I are enjoying the experience. I have already got the bug for more chicks. Thank God my wife will keep me in check. I thought of a new term for this experience “Hobbssesion” Half hobby and half obsession.
