My ducks all have well thought out names-

Ming Mei (Means smart and beautiful in chinese, she was named by my chinese friend)

Victor, was named after a chinese gangbanger the above chinese friend knew... Because Victor was a punk who always acted like he was in charge!

Ollie, was given a swedish name since her coloring looks a lot like a blue swedish duck

Vinny (originally Vinny the mouth because he never stopped peeping and used to thin it was funny to bite people on their bottoms)

Moxy (As in Moxie, which she certainly is full of)

Norie (named after Nori Seaweed, the blackish greenish seaweed used to make sushi... she's the same color)

I also got Three cockatiels named Bacon, Butter, and Biscuit. And four Parakeets names Sunny, Stormy, Muggy, and Icy.

We name everything... lol.

Lets put it this way - Unless you are a big meat factory place or have too many animals to count you are crazy NOT to name your ducks! All mine got names because they are part of the family . Even if it took a few months to find their names because i had to wait for their personalities to come out.

You are not crazy! I name every animal that lives at my house.

We have three dogs: Remmy, Rocky, and Pompeii
We have three cats: Pete, ShyAnn, Sassy
We have 13 chickens: Magenta, Columbia, Winefred, Red, Aggie, Nona, Foghorn, Leghorn, Bunny, Lily, Petunia, Edith, and Bitty
We have 2 ducks: Ethel and Einstein
We have one betta fish named Euclid

Oh, and the cow next door that isn't even ours we have named "Bossy."

I don't even own any ducks, but I name some of the ducks at the lake. Mostly, I do this because of my blog and I mostly name the ones I show a lot of photos of or talk about the most. I named some Oreo, Big Daddy (1 and 2), Latte, Aflac, Donald, Ducky, Ducky's friends (a brother sister pair), Cinnamon and the "Chocolate" ducks (all hybrids with Rouen, mallard and pekin in them who were all brown until they were 7 to 8 months old). I give the Chocolate ducks a number, sometimes.

There were ducks that other people named such as Curly (1 and 2), named for their deformed bills and Tom.

I identify four geese, too, but mostly because of their personalities: Dummy (1 and 2), Baba, and Picked On.

I mostly name them based on their personality, sounds they make, or colors.
