New to Ducks...maybe Im crazy BUT....do you name them?

I've named every duck I had with the exception of a bunch of ducklings that I sold soon after they hatched.

Let's see if I can remember them all...

Magpie, Sawyer, Maji, Mizu, Scuttlebutt, Beetle, Cadbury, Buff Mama, Rokie - my first bach of ducklings. Perdi the goose cam with them fromMcMurray Hatchery.
Then I got Mudslide from TSC.
Then... Silver Appleyards. Flynn, Fleetwood, Featherweight.
Then more ducks, a big Pekin named Big Duck, and his sister who was taken by a fox.

Then more Appleyards! Crap... Don't remember two of their names.

More Appleyards named Periscope, Peridot, and Periwinkle... And then I had Toaster (Flynn and Buff Mama's daughter), K.C. (Flynn and Cadbury's girl), and a couple other crosses I can't think of right now.

I name pretty much everything.

Oh of COURSE! I think it is crazy to NOT name them! I only have three as of now, sadly, but I have named them:
Pekin/Campbell cross: Libby
Apricot/snowy mix Call pair: Cory and Celeste.
My babies having fun in mud!

and then we have 4 BO hens named:
Lightning
Dash
Sunny
Goldie
and a bunch of rabbits who all have names as well! Shoot, we have fish that have names!

I only have three ducks right now and they don't have names yet. One is about a week and a half and the others are are a bit older than the first. Names will come. Totally came to this thread for ideas. lol


In the past I had:

Daffy: black Swedish hen
Yakky: blue Swedish drake
Johnny: black pied Muscovy drake
Elvis: black pied Muscovy drake (went to live with my aunt after all the other ducks and chickens were killed. He's about to be a daddy!)
The Duck: black pied Muscovy hen

3 more to go!!!! Oh no boys in this house incase anyone asks....but I was watching Private Practice and I like the way one of the girls says the name...so southern bell

I had 1 blue runner girl that I just couldnt get a name for. Everyone else had been given names but this 1 duck went without a name for about a month. She got stuck with Nene, not to bad i hear you say.
1 of my chocolate Runners Sunday name is Sarsipious Brown, AKA Sipi...just dont ask.

Naming my ducks was as important as to name my son...
Now i can spend the next 15yrs (however long they live) shouting Bubbles, Puddles, Misty, Meloney do you want your treats? lol
They all know their own names too! had a bit of a mix up when they were babies... Bubbles and Puddles both thought their name was Bubbles hehe

Sure you name them. How else can you talk to them individually?

My pekins are Mr. Drake, Miss Piggy, Miss Groucho, Zsa Zsa and Baby.

I have Sly, Bam Bam, Sipi, Trufft, Nene, (Squidge died), Daisy Duck, Dora Duck, Miss Priss, Jamima, Maisey, William, Finn, PomPom, Fiona, Tula, Elliot and Gemini. tomorrow im going to pick up another 3 Runners, I think 1 is called Hermione, 1 called Ronnie (female)..dont know about the other

This is so true!!! But I can see me telling DH that I had to name them to "talk to them"....

I mean I did name my chickens...what else can you expect?...DH will come out and then I hear, Dear, who are you talking to?....or if Im in the bedroom...and my dogs follow me, I get Are you in here talking to yourself?....lol

Would have died today, I did take a pic. cause DH would have NEVER believed me...but an old lady was in the resale shop, I come around the corner with my daugher and her baby...we are looking at baby cloths. I hear the old lady talking, and looking at baby dresses...she has in her basket a dog, mid size, in YELLOW LITTLE GIRLS DRESS!!!! On a blanket, and she is asking her if she likes the pink dress, holding it up and then trying it on her....I took pics and send them ALL TO DH...

Got to talking to the lady and she said her dog was a seizure dog...I still have the pics in my cell ph.
