New to ducks

Hi everyone. I was given two ducks. Not sure what kind. Female is brown male is mallard colors. Black head white around his neck. She is setting. The other day she came out and had an egg in her mouth. Broke it and then ate the egg. She is sitting on the other eggs now. How do I tend to her/ them. Never had ducksjust chickens

If a broody duck cracks an egg on the nest she will eat it so the insides to not damage the rest of the clutch. The drake might be forcing her off the nest to mate and this could be causing the cracked eggs so I would recommend separating him from her while she is setting.

If you post some pictures of them, we might be able to ID their breed if you are curious. I agree with @Kessel23 . Proving clean bedding often is essential to a good hatch, I would also throw out any of the eggs that might have yolk on them.
