New to Easter Eggers

Quote:
This is my girl's first winter and right now, without any artificial light, she's laying 2 eggs every 3 days which I consider excellent because we're getting less than 8-1/2 hours daylight here. I have been giving the flock extra protein treats, besides their regular layer feed. And they free-range almost every day. These things seem to help egg-laying, too.

Its like everything else - it depends on the individual bird and their lineage - and you can't go by what other EEs will do, most usually.

what chickenwisperer says is true . . . that said however, if you are asking for general results of others; my EE's lay large to super large eggs depending on how old the hen is, they do lay in winter but at reduced numbers, they all lay an egg a day all spring, summer and fall until molt.
