I've been working on my coop for a couple of months. It's just about ready for the chicks. Working on their fence now.

Thanks for the welcome. It's been a lot of work. I'm anxious to move them into their own home. I have six Rhode Island Reds and four Welsummers. I'm just wanting eggs for starters and will probably add some meat birds later.

The sign over their door came from my grandfather's coop. I remember seeing it on his coop as a child all those years ago, and after he died I salvaged it to use on my own one day. I've been saving it ever since. I hung it to remind me of his sense of humor and I think he'd smile if he saw me using it.
