So I've had chickens on and off my whole life, my mother's side of the family used to run a chicken farm, so I guess it's in my blood. The first time I personally hatched and raised chickens was when I was 10 with a home made incubator, shipped RIR eggs and lots of hand turning. The chicks that hatched were for laying eggs and as pets and lived to be 8, 7, and 9 respectively. Recently after realizing I can keep hens in my backyard in the city I live I decided to get a small flock going again and since I love talking chicken, figured I'd join
