New to Goats! Help!

I ordered the wrong stuff I got Durvet Ivermectin Pour On 250 Ml
th.gif
They are both mini goats and were weighed twice by vet and weighed last on 4-15 at 7.90 pounds for male and 6.40 for female. They are almost as small as my chihuahuas. The picture above is my 11 year old daughter holding them, so you can see how small they are.

Thank you for your help.

Definitely do not give the pour on orally. It can still be used though, it just won't help kill any internal parasites like the drench or injectable version would. Give it as the route intended, at 1mL per 20lbs of goat, dribbled along the spine. Make sure to part the fur so it actually contacts the skin. Suck it up into a syringe without a needle to apply.

That is so absolutely tiny! I know they're mini goats, but I have Nigerian Dwarf kids who are just over a month old that weigh a lot more than that. Having had a bout with coccidiosis can cause stunting if it isn't cleared up in time. That breeder you got them from is really the definition of a horrible breeder, selling sickly, unthrifty kids. That is why I'd recommend treating them with a prevenative coccidiosis treatment every three weeks until they are six months old. That way, you have a chance at undoing the damage by not letting it get a foothold in them again. The corid works great for that, it is just very yucky tasting for them.

Though I do know some people who have 'micro' pigs try and stunt them on purpose so they don't grow to their true size. Could be quite possible that is what your breeder tried to do with your two.
