Hi All,

I just joined this group, but have been using this wonderful website for reference for a couple of years. We plan on getting chickens soon, just finishing getting area ready for our coop/run and researching breeds. I look forward to learning a lot from all of you experienced chicken keepers!

Best,

Lisa in Seattle

Hi, Lisa, welcome to BYC.

Hi and welcome to BYC ! We hope you enjoy it and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hi :welcome Lisa

Glad you could join the flock! Many of us were lurkers before joining. I was one for 2 years too before joining. Wishing you the very best of luck with your new chicken adventures in the future.

Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hi Lisa, very happy to have you join us

and looking forward to hearing more about you setting up your coop and what breeds you decide on.

Nice to meet you Lisa. Have you visited the Learning Center, it's a great first stop in chicken education. Hope you will enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.

Thank you for the direction. The Learning Center is awesome! Thank you for responding. :)

:) We have a 17 year old Jack Russel. Wish we could have more space, but oh well, we live in the city.

Quick question. How do I reply to the group as a response to thank or whatever, without responding to each post? This could get cumbersome. Everyone super friendly so far and I am really glad that this website exists.

I can't wait to post pictures...availability of chicks is going to get me. We have a family farm here in Washington that has an awesome variety, but I just hope to get what we want. So far my 5 year old would like the Easter Egger because of the eggs, I like the Marans, Welsummers and then my husband actually is interested in the Polish Crested. Oh my, we like different and perhaps willing to have a pet chicken that has such personality and some special needs, like vision. I just hope we don't live to regret it. I want all of my chickens to be safe, happy and healthy!

Thanks again.

Peeps, Lisa
