New to incubating eggs

I think it's a bad sign that I now have 2 incubators. I have one with eggs on it that I started yesterday and one that I am going to put eggs in tomorrow. Lol

Sounds like you caught the hatching bug!

(Currently I have 3 incubators running with about 30 eggs incubating, plus I have 5 more eggs coming in the mail tomorrow... and I just had 6 baby quail hatch a few days ago. Oh and I ordered 8 baby chicks from our farm supply that come in in April and am thinking of ordering 12 ducklings also. Of course once my ducks and quail start laying I'll set some of their eggs too.... can you tell I'm addicted?

I would say I caught the hatching bug. In the one incubator I have 8 sf, 8 as and 3 of my barnyard mix.
In the 2nd incubator there is going to be 5 candy corn polish, 5 blue polish, 3 black polish, 3 olive eggers, 4 black marans, and 16 cream legbars.
I would love to have ducks but my husband doesn't really want ducks. I wish someone would ship me a duck egg or two and I could say oops they must have made a mistake.
And we are going to a poultry auction this weekend. Have you ever been to one of those? And if so what is it like?

Sorry it took me so long to reply!

I've been to a couple poultry auctions, but not very many. One was a huge indoor show/auction and the others were smallish outdoor ones. But they were all pretty fun for me, the indoor one had rows and rows of cages with thousands of poultry, the smaller ones probably had between 50-200.

How was the auction (if you went)?

We did end up going. It was at a local fairground. It was pretty interesting. They had rows of cages with different types of poultry in it. We ended up with a hen and rooster bantam buff brahma, and an angora bunny(my daughter had to have her) and then some guy and his wife who were sitting beside us bought her another bunny. Lol! I would go again. I just had fun looking at all the different breeds and seeing how it worked.

Sounds cool! Angora bunnies are so cute too.

I get to candle my second batch of eggs tonight. It's day 7!
