We want to start raising a few pet pigeons or doves. but dont know if we should get Doves or Pigeons...We want a pet bird that is small, friendly, and is friendly towards humans does that describe pigeons or doves and what breed?

Pigeon. They bond well. But you have to spoil them put in the time and they will be like a dog. Pic a laid back breed like fain tails or a show breed. I would not go with homers. Mine are a little flighty.

Pouters Are A Very Friendly Pigeons That Come In Many Different Sizes And Colors Sometimes The Hens In Trianing For Shows Mate To The Human Owners. And Have To Be Ignored When Mateing Up For Breeding Season. I Would Consider The Cropper And Pouters The Most Inter Active Breeds With Humans . Parlor Rollers And Tumblers Are Breeds That Cannot Fly Once They Have Grounded . But Must Be Bred In Were They Cannot Be Stepped On Or Excited . Never Can Get The Right Thing Said But Hope You Get The Idea.

It describes both! I would go with Ringneck Doves, Figuritas, American Fantails, or Satinettes

yep, fantails or satinettes/ german owls, any birds in that family.

very freindly, and self sustaining shall we say.

you will always have a few extras to sell with those breeds.
