Well, females can look like males, and vise vie, but if it lays an egg. It's a HEN! You can take that to the bank and cash it like a bank check!

Are Me and JJ the only people in the world that can secure a supply of high protein GBS?

To the OP...JJ is right. You just need to give them a few weeks to settle in there

It Seems The Uk And Its Territories (past & Present) Dont Believe Or Cant Create High Protien Feeds As I Have Seen Numerous Postings From England, Canada, New Zealand, Australia And Many Other Uk Territories On Here Where They Have A Heck Of A Time Getting Anything Over 20%..... I Dunno Maybe Its An English Thing? Maybe Influenced By The Grains They Have Available? Perhaps They Measure Protien Content In Some Different Metric Scale ~ Who Knows? But It Definately Seems To Be A Patern In Many Areas Of The World... In Fact It LOoks Like The Usa Is The Different One Here. Personally I Am Glad For It As My Birds Do Best On The High Octain Fuel

Ms Fulcher Do Not Confuse Pigmies ( Button Quail, Or Chinese Blue Breasted Quail)with The Rest Of The Quail World.... As They Arent Even Quail~ They Are Different Classification All Togather. I Am Not Well Versed In Them( I've Had Them Before, But They Really Arent My Cup Of Tea), But If Quailladyftmyers Or Shelleyd2008 Were To Identify It As A Male I Would Bet Money I Can't Afford To Loose That The Identification Is Likely Correct. So You May Wish To Get Pics And Ask 1 Of Them To Be Sure

Hello Everyone

Thanks for the replies. As mentioned earlier I am just going to change their feed to a higher protein one. I will keep you guys updated when they do start laying eggs or they are going to be my supper soon. Here is a picture of my coop. They run on a hay bedding which lay on top of a plastic sheet. Easy to clean and believe me it is. I had them on concrete floor and boy it took me a whole day just to clean their poo and dried food and that was just after a week of having them

The plastic box on the right is where they can hide from the wind ( Never going to chage the position on that ). It is very windy where I live in the UK. The middle box under the stairs is sand and the pot on the far left is a left over from my mums gardening so I just put it in there for them to play with and they do

I know from reading other peoples thread that their quails dont like going up the stairs and down the stairs on their coop to go to the top part and I had a similar problem to begin with. However I adjusted the stairs so suit their little legs by adding more steps closer together and they love going up and down it

If I dont get eggs say 3 - 4 weeks I am going to change the bedding and put wire flooring to see if that makes a different. That way I dont need to use bedding = no changes. Hopefully I dont want to come to this because I do like watching them play with the hay and hiding underneath it. Much moe like creating a nest and just chilling there.
