You need to remember the plastic bin retains heat and card board boxes are worse! So, yes moving the lamp farther away.
Check the temperature under the heat source. That temp will determine where your located on the planet. Its 90 here where I'm at so the lamp would need to be far away keeping it between 94-98. They need a place to escape the heat for a bit.
Make sure you give that chick nutradrench or save a chix electrolytes. Dip the beak or dropper some into it.
Keep them hydrated.
Offer cool water in a very shallow dish as they instantly fall asleep in a face forward position and will drown. Put marbles or stones in the bottom of the water dish too.
Keep us posted.
Thank You! I am ordering a thermometer now so that I can check the temp. I have moved the heat lamp further away for now. The water in the waterer has nutri-drench in it so she should be good drinking from there right? I did get her to drink some, she moved to the side away from the heat lamp and is sleeping now.

Without thermometer just keep an eye on chicks if they are huddling under lamp they may be cold, if staying at opposite end away from light they are plenty warm. and yes it wont take much in house to keep it at 90 degrees .Good luck and have fun with your new chicks. Anything else you'd like to know don't be afraid to ask. If I can help I will.

Thank you!! They have already moved to the side away from the heat lamp!! I do have another question actually. Two of my isa browns are shaking their heads a lot, is that something I should be concerned about? 1 more than the other.

I would just keep an eye on them but as long as they are eating and drinking ok things should be fine. May just be something to do with the heat like the one was panting.

And just remember when using thermometer check temp at bedding level under light and not suspended taking air temp. And yes nutri-drench in water is good.
