Congrats on the hatch and new chicks! Do you have pictures? Especially of the one that scoots. I'm suspicious it might have splayed legs.
Yes, it's splayed legs. Her little "elbows" are getting raw from scooting. You can search for splayed legs and find lots of methods, but here's mine to try just to see if this helps. It should take only 3-4 days, and should be changed twice per day with rest periods for the chick to stretch for a few minutes before "binding" again. Here are some pics any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I took vet wrap and cut a narrow strip (some use bandaids) and wrapped that not tight on one leg down toward the foot. Take the other end and wrap the other leg so the chicks' legs are straight down from its body. It will struggle at first, but soon will learn to get around like that.
Recovery is nearly 100% if caught early and treated.
You can use gauze. Don't wrap too tightly or you'll cut off circulation. Thats the problem with using rubber bands.I tried making a bandaid wrap but she didn't react well and her legs swelled. I ordered some splayed leg braces but they won't be here till Tuesday. Will that be too late? I'm afraid to wrap them due to her reaction.
