Hello everyone, this has been a dream of mine to have chickens
. This is a new experience for us-we have 15 chicks presently, they just turned 4 weeks old last Wednesday. I am eager to learn from all of you on what I should or should not be doing. I have been giving them small amount scrambled egg and small bits of watermelon as a treat. They also have chick starter, chic grit and clean water available. As I read different articles I feel I am doing things wrong. We did let them in a small enclosed area yesterday for about 30 minutes and then back to their coop (located in our garage- still have heat lamp, and plate). Chuck (my husband) has just about finished their permanent home and if I have read correctly they can go to their coop at 6 weeks. They are getting their feathers in more each day. I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you!
