New to site!! HELLO!

Hello, and welcome to BYC! I'm so glad you decided to join our helpful community.
It looks like we have a lot in common. I also love to crochet and camp. I like to make a blanket every time I have a new niece / nephew. 😍
Hope you enjoy your stay here. We have lots of threads about naughty roosters, if you use the search function you will find a lot of helpful information. Hopefully he calms down for you. We put one into the crock pot just this year because he wouldn't mind his manners.

:welcome

Hi, thanks for joining us! Not meaning to offend, but I would not have a rooster anywhere around a young child. The child could be badly injured and it can happen in a heartbeat.

Best wishes.
We have free range chickens in our back yard. My child is only outside with me. I catch it very quickly. I am trying to teach him to not be scared of him. And if I don't have the Rooster around kids he will always attack. They both have to learn boundaries.

I was young my parents had what would now be called a hobby farm. We had chickens and I can remember the leghorn rooster would come after us kids from time to time. My mom explained to me (5yrs old) in child terms how the daddy rooster protected his family. We had to show him we wouldn't hurt them. Now I have my own chickens. Life isn't always easy and simple. Sometimes we get hurt and learn something new. We all have our way of caring for our kids also. IMO
