Crowing - Tiny was crowing for 3 weeks before the surgery. Every night I'd go out, shut the coop, wait for them to go to sleep, then I'd reach in and grab Tiny. I'd lock him in a cat carrier in the shed with the window blacked out. If I let him out after the sun was fully up he'd be pretty quiet. He would crow a couple times an hour when calling the flock, but it wouldn't be the constant crowing he did during sunrise.
Now he doesn't crow at all. He makes little peeps like he did when he was a chick.
Frank charges $300 for the caponizing. I was lucky in that he was a friend of a friend and we all owed each other something. We were able to work out a deal involving me sweating my butt of on Frank's farm while the other two drank beer on the porch and though of new jobs that needed to be done.
