It’s a 40 degree day here (celcius) and as my babies are only 3 weeks old I have brought them indoors in the cool. I have two very unhappy cats however because they are letting curiosity get the better of them and then the spray bottle comes out

Hi all. I’m very new to chickens. Only purchased my first chickens yesterday.
I have two Australorps approximated 3 weeks old and an ISA Brown approximated 4weeks old
I decided to get chickens after losing my dogs. It was quite lonely out the back and missed having company out there and something to talk to whilst pottering around. Looking forward to learning so much more over the years.

It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

Hello and welcome! Your chicks are cuties. I think you will find keeping chickens very rewarding. If youcwant them as pets that keep you company, I highly recommend handling them every single day. They will want to sit on you. It’s the BEST! (but you might put a towel on your lap first! LOL!)
Handling them now also makes it easier to handle them them later should they fall ill or get injured and you have to provide hands-on care. Enjoy them!!!
