Hello everyone! ! Im new here and have lots of questions and would love any advice. I have 4 bannies and a rooster that are year old. And I bought 10 laying hens from a hatchery that are 1 1/2 yrs old. Im only getting 1-3 eggs a day and my bannies quit laying when I brought the other hens home and its been a month. Not sure if its from the cold weather? Thank u in advance!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Here is a nice thread that covers pretty much all the reasons your chickens might not be laying. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/423023/why-arent-my-chickens-laying-here-are-your-answers Chickens hate change, bringing new chickens in would upset the bantams and moving the hatchery girls would upset them, and could stop them from laying for awhile, your hatchery girls are also of an age where they could be molting. Hopefully since it is spring, they will recover pretty fast and start laying for you again.

Good luck with your flock and welcome to BYC!

Welcome to BYC. Chickens hate change. The addition of the large birds may have caused the bantams to stop laying, and the large birds are still adjusting to their new home. With the increase in day length, your hens will soon start laying again.
