Hey everyone,
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Nope, had 9 before (all hand me down older ladies)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
0, but we have 7 on their way soon from Meyer hatchery and maybe a few others we can hopefully find around town.
(3) What breeds do you have?
(Coming) Brahmas, Salmon faverolles, black crested Polish, Blue splash maran, green queen, then hoping to find cream legbar, lavender Orpington, and an australorp in town... We didn't want to have to wait, and a bit nervous about mail.
In the past we've had Rhode island reds, Plymouth barred rock, Orpingtons, and an Americana, plus a couple others were not sure what they were.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs, personalities, they are a BLAST to watch and bring me SO MUCH JOY. I'm not a dog or cat person... I guess I'm a crazy chicken lady!!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Kids, homesteading, homeschooling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 3 boys and a dog.. it's NEVER a full moment
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've often got on here to read different forums and have loved all the information and community. With us having chicks on the way we figured it was time to join!
