New to the crew.

Seems we have insomnia in common! And a chicken guard dog.
Meet Titan, the gentle giant chicken protector. He's a pet, but outside with the chickens whenever they aren't locked in their run. He's gentle with them and they show no fear him.
Ha, Titan is one beautiful pupper! I was hoping that one of our bigger dogs would become the chicken protector and not our Teacup as she can not go outside alone due to hawks. I have yet to introduce the chicks to our shepherd yet. He still has that pup mentality of if it fits in his mouth its food lol.

Yes insomnia is one of the issues that came with my stroke. My circadian rhythm got janked in a major way due to a few issues. One is due to the area of the brain that controls my sleep, another is due to my partial blindness from the stroke called "homonymous hemianopia" and also I was diagnosed after the stroke with what they call "Non-24". The last one has to do with now not having any perception of time and short term memory issues. This means I can be up for 48 hours and I think I have only been up for 10 minutes. My wife has to remind me to go to bed and I have to take medication to sedate myself which SUX because I hate taking medication! To me a month goes by and it only feels like a day. I use to think life felt like it went by to fast. Now it goes by at the speed of light. It does come in handy when waiting in line at the DMV now for the handicap tag renewal and such lol.

I just want to say thank you to all for the warm welcome. It is great to join a new community where everyone is so nice and willing to accept in new members. If I did not reply to you directly my apologies. It is due to the fact I get very confused and lost easily. Please bare with me as it will take me a few months to get the site down on navigation and such.

 The site is moving soon. It will all change.

Welcome to BYC! Great introduction! Looking forward to hearing all about your flock as they grow! Feel free to share some pics if you want! We all love fuzzy baby pics :love
:ya:welcome:ya

Thank you DiYMama. As soon as I get some photos I will throw them up for sure. My mother told me that I can not be taking the chicks out of the brooder a lot to be handling them and such. She said that they would get to cold? I had not found this in any of my research so really I do not know. I know I want to get them out and let them run across my desk and get some good pictures such and to play with em but I did not want to take the chance.

Ewok, you are most welcome at Backyard Chickens.Members drop in as needed and activities allow. I came to do research for a friend and have stayed 10 years doing so. If I'm not eating or sleeping - this is where most folks find me.
Ha that is good to hear! To alter and use a quote from my cigar group, "It is chickens that brings us together, It is the people that keep us coming back for more!"
