Laurel Marie
In the Brooder
hi all!
Laurel here. We live in Pacifica CA, just a couple miles in from the coast a tucked at the base of Montana mountain. I currently have a smallish flock but we are growing! We have a blue Wyandotte, a golden Wyandotte, speckled Sussex, Australorp, an old old light brahma ( 7 years now), 2 cream legbar chicks, 2 sage eggers, 2 isbars. We also recently purchase some hatching eggs for my broody which include 4 sage eggers and a French black copper maran so we are quite the varied flock!
I started with 4 chicks 7 years ago and the obsession has grow ever since. We moved to Pacifica a year ago which gave us the opportunity to redesign our coop and expand our flock. We also keep 3 beehives and have a small vegetable garden.
My husband and I are hobby farmers for sure and our young boys are enjoying it as well. By day he is in law enforcement and I'm a park ranger. We are hoping to move a little further north some day to expand even more because chickens are addicting!!
I've been a longtime reader but just recently registered as I have some pretty specific questions that I couldn't find answers to in the existing forums.
Looking forward to learning from everyone!!
