Yes, about 11 weeks ago we received 14 baby chicks because we were going to be more self reliant, eat better, and just plain feel better. Wow, did we not know what we were in for! No wait...don't misunderstand, it's been a blast! Though I find it odd that I want to cancel my TV subscription now that we have "Chicken TV" (Chairs inside or outside the chicken run).
Anyway, here are a few pics of the guys and gals. List of breed and number is below. I see putting in one's signture is common so I'll get on that in the near future. Anyway, great to be aboard!
The first pic is the two roo's (Cogburn on the left and Dillon to his right) and some hens playing "Wack-A-Mole" with Sadie who was nice enough to bring them a fresh, still half kicking, mole to eat. I think she waited about five minutes for them to take it. When they didn't she picked it up, went into the high grass and finished the job.
This our coop and run.
And this is Dillon. He was, shall we say, an un expected treat. Yes, we have two roos!
