New to the whole cicken thing

In a couple weeks i will begin to build my first coop. I will build it from some salvaged log siding. Let's see how it goes. I have 11 acres and always wanted to have some chickens. What is the best breed for cold winters....

Welcome. Where are you?
Lots of breeds handle cold well but the best IMO are Jaerhons, Chanteclers, Brahmas, Hamburgs, Wyandottes, Orloffs, Rocks, Jersey Giants.
